The Developer Could Possibly Be Making Just Cause 4
Avalanche Studios, the developers behind the Just Cause series, announced on Tuesday that they were opening a new studio in Malmö, Sweden.
This new Malmö studio will “focus on development of current and future Avalanche Studios IPs” and the projects they’re going to be working on will be “relatively small and flexible projects which rest on a solid foundation of AAA production values and award-winning proprietary technology”.
“It’s been hard to decide where to open our new studio,” said Pim Holfve, the CEO of Avalanche Studios, in a press release. “Sweden offers many locations with potential, but we feel that Malmö ticks all the boxes. I’m convinced that the new studio will be beneficial for both Avalanche Studios and for the already impressive game development community in and around Malmö.”
Earlier this month, Just Cause 4 was one of many unannounced games spotted on a Walmart Canada webpage. One of the games that was listed on the webpage was Rage 2, which has since been officially revealed.
Walmart Canada described the titles that were seen on the webpage as “speculative”.
“Walmart experienced a technical glitch that allowed certain items to be posted to our website for a short period of time,” said a Walmart Canada executive. “The items posted were speculative in nature and only game publishers can confirm the announcement of a release. We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Like the gaming community, Walmart looks forward with anticipation to those announcements.”
