SEGA Concludes the Story of Kiryu
Witness the conclusion of one of the most venerable characters in the Yakuza series with Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. If you enjoy an open world where every corner offers more than a simple fetch quest, then this may be the installment for you. Players can play the part of Kazuma Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima, in one last hurrah against a world of clan intrigue.
Of course, this is the sixth installment of a robust and involved storyline; therefore, SEGA has updated their website to grant you a refresher course. If you’ve yet to dive into the series, herein is the base place to start. But in a nutshell, Yakuza has you wander dense urban areas, in this case, Onomichi, to interact with a world and narrative full of compelling features and minigames. And there’s even a new addition, this time around.
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life introduces the brand-new Clan Creator minigame, wherein Kiryu builds his own clan from the ground up to combat the unjust JUSTIS clan. He’ll need all the help he can get to take on the New Japan Pro Wrestling stars who rule over JUSTIS – Tetsuya Naito, Kazuchika Okada, and Hiroshi Tanahashi. Luckily, Kiryu can join the front lines himself and call on powerful allies to join his clan. Special leaders can be recruited with secret Clan Codes; those with trained eyes can find them hidden throughout the Yakuza Experience Site and our Yakuza social pages.
Other legendary leaders, including Goro Majima, Taiga Saejima, Shun Akiyama, and Makoto Date can be purchased in the “Add-Ons” section of the Yakuza 6: The Song of Life PlayStation Store page. No matter who your leaders may be, you’ll want to build your clan to fend off foes in the Six Lunatics Invasion event, which runs from 4/17 – 4/23, followed by additional Clan Creator events each week!
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is available now for the PlayStation 4. Currently, there’s an Essence of Art edition available for the same standard edition price of $59.99. Additionally, you can find the After Hours Premium Edition for an upped retail price of $89.99.
