Makers of Firewatch Work For Them Now
Campo Santo took to their blog to announce a new partnership with Valve. Going forward, all of Campo Santo’s games will be Valve productions. Thankfully, they’ve assured us that any existing or upcoming projects are still in the pipes just as they were before. So, Valley of the Gods is still happening. Whew!
According to the blog post, the team had “a series of long conversations with the people at Valve” about this acquisition beforehand. The two companies concluded that they had a litany of shared values, including the need to recognize their own limits. Presumably one aspect of this major move stems from a desire to do more with the limited time available to the team.
The post wraps up with a reminder that each and every one of their existing projects will continue, including The Quarterly Review. Hopefully this move into Valve headquarters won’t come with any staff trimmings. Lord knows that Valve can afford to bring over the whole Campo Santo team. Firewatch is currently available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Valley of the Gods is set for release next year.
