PUBG Is Going to Be Free to Play on Xbox One Next Week

The Popular Battle Royale Game Is Going to Be Free for a Limited Time

If youโ€™re an Xbox Live Gold user then youโ€™ll be able to play PlayerUnknownโ€™s Battlegrounds for free next week! It was announced on Tuesday that the gameโ€™s developers, PUBG Corp., were making the popular online battle royale game available as a free trial and the event will last from April 19th to April 22nd.

In order to access the game once the free event starts, youโ€™ll have to download it from the Xbox Live Gold Member feature area on the Xbox Live home dashboard. You could also search for the game on the Microsoft Store by using the Dashboard.

โ€œDuring Free Play Days players will be able to download and play the full Xbox Game Preview version of PUBG including all multiplayer modes (solo, duos, squads),โ€ the announcement read. โ€œAny Battle Points (BP) you earn during the Free Play Days period will carry over to the game should you purchase it when the Free Play Days period has ended.โ€

Battle Points are in-game currency thatโ€™s used to purchase in-game cosmetic items. Battle Points are awarded to PUBG players after theyโ€™ve been killed in a match. The amount of Battle Points you receive depends on several factors: how long you were able to stay alive during a match, how many enemy players youโ€™ve killed and how much health damage youโ€™ve caused.

The announcement also revealed details for PUBGโ€™s new DLC, which is titled โ€œPUBG5 Packโ€. Itโ€™ll cost $6.99 and players that purchase the DLC will get an exclusive cap along with some new clothes. The pack is only available for a limited time (from April 19th to May 19th).

โ€œPurchase of the DLC during Xbox Live Goldโ€™s Free Play Days will carry over to your full game purchase at the end of the Free Play Days period,โ€ the announcement explained.

Also according to the announcement: PUBGโ€™s new map, Miramar, is coming to the Xbox One in May.

PlayerUnknownโ€™s Battlegrounds is currently available on Xbox One, PC, iOS and Android.
