The demo for Detroit: Become Human, an interactive adventure game about androids in a futuristic Detroit, is currently available on New Zealand’s PlayStation Store.
“Get a glimpse of the android revolution of tomorrow in this action-packed demo for Detroit: Become Human,” the demo’s PlayStation Store description reads. “The unique prototype android Connor serves the Detroit police department, and you join him at the beginning of a dramatic stand-off with a fugitive.”
“You choose what happens. Analyse the situation and make your decisions carefully… lives could be at risk,” the description added.
David Cage, the game’s creative director and the founder of the developer Quantic Dream, has described Detroit: Become Human as the developer’s “most ambitious title ever created”.
“Your actions have real and spectacular consequences,” Cage said back in March, “there are entire scenes that you can see or miss based on your actions, your closest allies may help you until the end or die just after you meet them, your destiny itself can be totally different depending on your choices. You must also be very careful with your three main characters, because any of them may die at any time.”
Cage hoped that players would view the game “as a unique experience that echoes some of the challenges our world faces, and maybe it even resonates with your own personal life”.
“More than anything, we hope that Detroit will leave an impression on you, and that you will remember for a long time the story of these three androids who wanted to be free,” Cage said.
Detroit: Become Human is scheduled to come out on May 25th for the PS4.
