The Demonic FPS Is Free for a Limited Amount of Time
The Darkness II, the 2012 sequel to the 2007 first-person shooter about a mafioso that has demonic powers, is currently for free for a limited amount of time at The Humble Store.
In The Darkness II, players take control of Jackie Estacado, the don of a mafia family in New York City who has a supernatural power known as “The Darkness”. Throughout the game, players will battle against rival mafiosos and a secret society known as “The Brotherhood”.
“It’s been two years since Jackie Estacado used The Darkness to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend’s murder,” the game’s description reads. “He’s been unable to shake the memory of Jenny’s death since bottling up his supernatural power and now The Darkness wants out. A sudden, unprovoked attack by a mysterious organization known as the Brotherhood heralds the start of a full-scale war and opens the door for The Darkness to reemerge, setting Jackie on a journey to hell and worse.”
Along with the singleplayer campaign, there is also a co-op campaign that can be played with four players. The co-op campaign has its own fully-realized characters, its own story and even a final boss.
As of writing, the free offer is only available for another day and 20 hours so if you want to get The Darkness II then today is the day to do it!
The Darkness II is also available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
