The Latest Smash Roster Remains a Huge Mystery
The day Nintendo announced Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo Switch, you could hear everyone and their mothers scribbling their personal wishlists of characters. It may be that some wishlists included none other than Goku from Dragon Ball Z. If that were you, you would be in the same boat as Funimation.
In a new and amusing tweet, the great distributor of North American anime decided to chime in on the Smash Bros conversation. While we’re here speculating and hoping for the arrival of new characters to the roster, Funimation directly reached out to Nintendo. Their message was simple: When is Goku coming to Super Smash Bros?.You can see the official tweet down below.
@NintendoAmerica Hey Nintendo, When’s our boy Goku going to join the fight? ???? #NintendoDirect #SmashBrosSwitch pic.twitter.com/QFLhxtWWkw

As you can see, Funimation went the full mile by introducing a photoshopped image and everything. Yes, it’s photoshopped; don’t consider this an official reveal. And now that the pot has been stirred, is there any chance we’ll actually see Goku in a Super Smash Bros Switch?
Ever since Snake was announced for Super Smash Bros Brawl, anything seems possible. We’ve also had Sonic, Pac-Man, Mega Man, and Cloud (who’s never even in a Nintendo game). Dragon Ball FighterZ also boosted the franchise’s reputation by being such a critically acclaimed fighting game. Of course, we’ll just have to wait and see if Nintendo responds.
Happy gaming.
