Could We See An Official Announcement at EA Play 2018?
It appears that Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 3 is in the works thanks to a leak from an Amazon listing.
Reddit user codmycave spotted a mention of Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 3 on Amazon buried within the description for Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare Volume 2, a new official comic book coming out in September. The description says the comic book will connect PvZ: GW2 to PvZ: GW3.
“Paul Tobin returns to write the official comic book bridge between video games PvZ: GW2 and PvZ: GW3 with Tim Lattie returning to deliver artwork,” the description reads.
Another entry in the Garden Warfare series isn’t all that surprising given the success of the past two games. With Electronic Arts set to hold their annual EA Play event before E3, perhaps we’ll get an official announcement there. Other than that, there isn’t much else to go on.
In the meantime, make sure you check out our launch review for Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. Here’s what we said:
“Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is not exactly the biggest step forward developer PopCap Games could have taken, but it builds on a solid foundation and for now reclaims its original and unique feeling in the realm of multiplayer shooters. A more comprehensive offline experience – with cinematics to boot – alongside a bigger evolution on the multiplayer front will be the expectation should the game get a sequel. Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is as addicting as its predecessor on the gameplay front, but the incredible map design and splendid musical score elevate it above PopCap Games’ past offerings.”
