Licensed Merchandise Company Shares a Ton of Details About the Future of the Crash Bandicoot Franchise
According to Max Arguile, licensing manager for the UK based merchandise company GB Eye, there is a lot going on in the world of Crash Bandicoot. Not only does he claim that the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy will see a huge release onto both the Nintendo Switch and PC this year, but that there is a brand new Bandicoot title coming our way in 2019!
Max Arguile has gone on record in DHX Brands’ latest edition of ‘Licensing Source Book Europe’, stating that Activision has a 5 year plan to release new Crash Bandicoot games through to 2022. And that’s not all. According to Arguile, Activision wants to expand its horizons, making Crash Bandicoot a multi-platform franchise.
Arguile claims the publisher is planning to release the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on both the Nintendo Switch and PC later this year, though no mention on whether the title will make its way to the Xbox One. On page 97 of the Licensing Source Book, the GB Eye licenser says,“The new game was a huge success at retail with no marketing spend. Next year it will be going broader (Switch and PC) and there will be another game in 2019. Activision has a five-year plan for this and GB Eye is delighted to be fully on board for all products.”
Considering the huge success the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy Remaster had last year following launch, this isn’t hard to imagine. With that said, this is a rumor, and should therefore be taken with a huge grain of salt. Fingers crossed that Activision will address this soon, and we’ll no for sure one way or another.
