Super Meat Boy Cleaning Up So Far On Switch

Team Meat Pretty Impressed With Day One Sales

Super Meat Boy has been around for almost a decade. The game has come out on a slew of different consoles, to the point where it’s a little weird if you’ve never played it before. This makes the day-one sales on the Nintendo Switch all the more impressive.

According to Team Meat, the Switch version of their flagship title came “shockingly close” to the sales figures from its debut on the Xbox 360 back in 2010. Keep in mind, that first launch came with a $5 discount, which adds an extra layer of achievement to these day-one sales. This shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone who has played Super Meat Boy, but still.

This is just the latest in a long line of indie games kicking major ass on the Nintendo Switch. Meat Boy in particular is a perfect fit for a portable system, as the gameplay is already broken down into very bite-sized chunks. Given how well the game is selling already, one expects that the upcoming physical release will be even more of a boon for Team Meat. If you’re one of the lucky few who have never experienced this game, it’s available right now on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
