Sea of Thieves Controller Releasing a Month Before the Game Ships
Sea of Thieves is one of the biggest and most anticipated Xbox One exclusives this year. To help celebrate the occasion, Microsoft has whipped up a fancy and awesome-looking Xbox One controller specifically for the open-world pirate adventure game. Feast your eyes on the gorgeous design below.
Sea of Thieves won’t be out until March 20th, but Microsoft is putting this special edition controller up for sale on February 6th in North America and February 15th in Europe.
As explained in its product description, the controller has a deep purple translucent design, adorned with laser etched barnacles, one treasured golden trigger, and a “mysterious skull that glows at sundown.” In other words, the skull glows in the dark!
It also comes equipped with the usual controller trimmings like custom button mapping, a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, and Bluetooth support for all Xbox One consoles, Windows 10 PC’s, and tablets. You know, the usual shebang. If you ask us, this is one of the coolest controller designs the Xbox team has created in a long, long while. While we’ve previously sung the praises of Xbox Design Lab in the past, you still can’t choose custom designs like this.
Microsoft is taking pre-orders for the controller now on their website. It costs $74.99 USD, $84.99 CAN, and £64.99 GBP.
