Microsoft Currently Shopping For New “Timed and Full On” Exclusive Games for Xbox

Well, it’s Not For Lack of Trying…

Things have been picking up for Xbox lately. A few days ago, we told you about a leak for the next batch of Xbox One exclusives. Those titles included a new Fable game, Forza Horizon 4, Halo 6 and Perfect Dark. Now it appears Microsoft is trying to buy new Xbox exclusives and it looks like they are targetting everything from independent titles to AAA games from small and large third-party publishers.

This news was initially revealed by a member of the Danish development studio of Flashbulb Games, who stated the following on the ResetERA forum:

“Without going into too much detail, I know for sure that Microsoft have got their chequebook out and are actively seeking out both smaller and larger titles they can get as an Xbox exclusive, both timed and full on.”

It seems therefore that, in addition to the development efforts with internal studios, Microsoft is also trying to flesh out the exclusive Xbox line-up with a series of third-party titles, both indie, and Triple-A games.

This news certainly appears to make sense given all the backlash Xbox received in 2017 for the lack of exclusives in their stable of games. So you just know Xbox wants to make a better impression with gamers in 2018.

We should also mention, this is not a new practice for the Xbox division of Microsoft as exclusive titles such as Ryse, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Dead Rising 3 and 4, Ori and the Blind Forest and even Cuphead were not first party games. No doubt, Microsoft likely hauled out their big ass“checkbook” to gain the exclusive rights to those games.

Despite all this juicy news, this information needs to be taken with a giant grain of salt. None of this information has been confirmed by Xbox.
