FIFA 18 Kicks Call of Duty: WWII Out of the Number One Spot in the First UK Sales Chart of 2018

FIFA 18 Ends Call of Duty: WWII’s Reign at Number One According to Latest UK Sales Chart

Last week, Call of Duty: WWII showed off just how dominant it’s sales have been, taking the number one spot on the UK Sales Chart for the ninth week in a row. Ending 2017 on that high note, it seemed like the latest COD title was unstoppable, yet in a huge upset, FIFA 18 has kicked the popular title out of the top spot in the first UK Sales Chart of the 2018.

Call of Duty WWII - HERO

Since its launch in the beginning of November, Call of Duty: WWII has made a huge splash in the industry. Last week Call of Duty: WWII reached nine consecutive weeks in a row at the top of the UK Sales Chart, marking the first time a COD title has been that popular since the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 back in 2009! In fact, if WWII had managed to hold the top spot for one more week, it would have broken this franchise record set by MW2. Unfortunately though, FIFA 18 managed to dethrone the popular shooter, taking over the coveted number one spot.

It’s not all bad however, as WWII still occupies the second spot on the first UK Sales Chart of 2018. Interestingly, GTA V has set a record coming in at the third top-seller this past week. Grand Theft Auto V has spent 225 weeks in the top 40, of which 85 percent was spent in the top 10! You can check out the top 10 list below for the week ending on January 6th below.
