State of Decay 2 Mature ESRB Rating Confirmed
Last month Undead Labs, the developer behind the series, confirmed that the team is confident it will hit the scheduled Spring release window. Now it seems there is more to get excited about as State of Decay 2 has just received a mature ESRB rating officially. So what does that mean about the release date for the sequel of the zombie survival game?
In order for the ESRB to officially rate a game, they need to play a complete version. Since State of Decay 2 has officially received a mature rating, it’s very likely we will find out an official release date soon! You can find the rating summary below.
“This is a third-person action/simulation game in which players assume the role of survivors in a zombie apocalypse. Players explore small towns and rural settings, locate survivors, and battle hordes of swarming zombies. Players use baseball bats, meat cleavers, machetes, grenades, and machine guns to kill zombies in frenetic melee-style combat. Several weapons allow players to crush/maim zombies’ heads; grenade blasts also depict blood and dismemberment. If other human survivors become infected or ill, players can choose to “euthanize” them by shooting them in the head at close range, resulting in decapitation and large blood-splatter effects. During the course of the game, players can build an infirmary in which they can craft painkillers and opiates; specific drugs referenced include Herbal Remedy, Painkillers, Opiates, Amphetamines, and Pentamezin (a fictional prescription drug). The words “f**k,” “sh*t,” and “a*shole” appear in the dialogue.”
So far we know that State of Decay 2 allows for cooperative play with up to four players, and that the playable area will be significantly larger than the original game. State of Decay 2 will be available for both Windows 10 PC and the Xbox One with cross-platform play and cross-buy.
Along with the announcement that the developers are confident that they will hit their release window for State of Decay this Spring, the Community Manager Nicole stated on Reddit that Undead Labs is ready to share a bunch of new details about State of Decay 2. Hopefully we’ll hear something soon.
