SuperData Shares its Review of Top-grossing 2017 Games
There’s no denying that 2017 was a big year for gaming, and it was evidently bigger for some IPs than others. SuperData research just shared their analysis with Market Brief — 2017 Digital Games & Interactive Media Year in Review. Much of the info shared is unsurprising but still remarkable. In this year’s top 10 premium PC games, one indie title crossed the border obscurity and found new success in the mainstream: Divinity Original Sin 2.
Funded via Kickstarter, Divinity Original Sin 2 was able to build off the success of the first installment and garner a wider following. Last November, developer Larian Studios confirmed the title sold over 1-million copies. Its overall success, however, was shrouded in mystery until now.
