Horizon: Zero Dawn Features the Best Gaming Tech of 2017
This year has seen the release of some beautifully crafted masterpieces, and is one of the best years the gaming industry has ever seen. In a year with some heavy hitters, like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, and many others, it’s no small feat that Horizon: Zero Dawn has been named as having the best gaming technology of the year by Digital Foundry.
With titles setting the bar so high, developers are looking to use newer and more impressive technology with each passing year. Well, this year, the game to beat is Guerilla Games’ newest title Horizon: Zero Dawn. In the Digital Foundry’s Best Gaming Tech of 2017 video, Horizon: Zero Dawn takes the top prize for being the most technically impressive title of the year. That’s not to say HZD wasn’t up against some tough competition though. You can check out the top 7 games with the best gaming tech this year below.
7) Nex Machina (Housemarque)
6) The Surge (Deck 16)
5) Gravity Rush 2 (Project Siren)
4) Claybook (Second Order)
3) The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Nintendo EPD)
2) Assassin’s Creed Origins (Ubisoft Montreal)
1) Horizon: Zero Dawn (Guerilla Games)
There’s no denying that Horizon: Zero Dawn deserved the top spot here for the most technically impressive title of 2017, as it is probably the most gorgeous game of the year. Yesterday in fact we awarded Horizon: Zero Dawn with our Prettiest Pony Award (the award for the best looking game of the year). You can check out that video here.
