The Surge: Complete Edition Also Announced
Before the year is up, Deck 13’s The Surge will let players explore a dilapidated theme park in an all-new expansion on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
It’s called A Walk in the Park, but it sure as hell doesn’t sound like it will be. It may seem like a nice change of scenery when compared to the main game’s industrial complex environments, but it’s still gonna have its own smattering of hardcore challenges. Players will get to explore the “open and colourful” theme park called CREO World.
The amusement park was built by CREO, the large corporation that plays a big part in The Surge’s story, for its employees as a holiday treat for their families. Of course, once disaster strikes, CREO World has become nothing short of a death trap. Scattered about the park are the roaming rescue teams who have gone insane as well as deadly robot mascots.
Here’s a bit more on what A Walk in the Park promises to offer:
“CREO World presents a wealth of fresh challenges. Originally built to celebrate CREO and its mission, the park is a radically different setting from the rest of the complex, full of branching paths and secrets to discover. Survive and explore the park’s attractions before taking on a fearsome boss in the devastated park. Through technical and spectacular fights, you will face this new threat, cutting and equipping 16 all-new weapons, sets of armour, and implants to upgrade and further customize the way you want to play.”
Deck 13 also announced The Surge: Complete Edition which, as you can probably guess, will package the original game, the Walk in the Park expansion, and all DLC. There is no confirmed release date for the expansion or the Complete Edition except for a vague “end of the year” release. We’re expecting the team would like to launch before Christmas so expect both to arrive in December.
