Darkest Dungeon and the Darkside Detective Are Coming to the Nintendo Switch
Although there wasn’t much variety in the titles available at launch, recently the Nintendo Switch has had a lot of new additions announced. AAA and indie titles alike have brought the Switch to a whole new level and now two more indie titles, Darkest Dungeon and The Darkside Detective, have been revealed for the system.
Darkest Dungeon, is exactly that, an indie dungeon crawler that was nominated for the the grand prize at the Independent Game Festival last year. Redhook, the developer behind the title recently announced that it would be making its way to the Nintendo Switch. You can find the reveal below, as Red Hook Studios cleverly concealed the game in a video running on the Switch.

Within Darkest Dungeon, players will assemble a party to explore and dig out the grottoes below their estates. Here is what the official website says about the title, “Darkest Dungeon is a challenging gothic RPG about the stresses of dungeon crawling. You will lead a band of heroes on a perilous side-scrolling descent, dealing with a prodigious number of threats to their bodily health, and worse, a relentless assault on their mental fortitude! Five hundred feet below the earth you will not only fight unimaginable foes, but famine, disease, and the stress of the ever-encroaching dark.” No release date has been announced, but if it’s running on the Switch already, it may be fairly soon.
Darkest Dungeon is not the only indie title to be revealed as of late. The official Twitter account for the Darkside Detective recently confirmed that the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch in the future. Like Darkest Dungeon, no release date was announced alongside the reveal on Twitter. You can find the reveal below.

If you haven’t heard about the Darkside Detective, it is a humorous retro-inspired point and click adventure title. Here is how the official game website describes the title, “Where cultists crawl, where demons dwell, where the occult… occults? you’ll find Detective Francis McQueen, the sole member of the criminally underfunded Darkside Division. When evil darkens the doorsteps of Twin Lakes City – hell, even when it just loiters around shop fronts or hangs out in shady alleyways – he’s there, ready to investigate the cases that nobody else will. He is The Darkside Detective.”
