Pre-Orders Are Up on Amazon for a November 27th Release
It appears that North America will be getting their own version of a SNES-themed New 3DS XL handheld thanks to a listing on Amazon. An official announcement from Nintendo has yet to be made.
Thanks to Wario64’s excellent sleuthing skills on Twitter, the handheld will cost $199.99 USD and will release on November 27th. Adding to the whole SNES theme, a download code for the original Super Mario Kart is also included in the box.

For some added context, Nintendo released a Super Famicom-themed New 3DS XL in Japan back in April 2016. Following that, Europe got the same-design just this month. Fans in North America were wondering if Nintendo would leave them empty-handed. Because the design of the classic console differs across regions, it was never clear if Nintendo would design one for North America. With today’s reveal, it seems fans wishes have come true.
Throwing in Super Mario Kart is a nice bonus too. There is a decent selection of downloadable SNES games on the 3DS Virtual Console including The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Mario World. However, these are only playable if you own a New Nintendo 3DS XL due to the extra CPU boost.
