Cyberpunk 2077 Update: There Will Be an In-Game Social Hub

Will This Be Cyberpunk 2077’s “Seamless Multiplayer” Experience?

The good folks over at Warsaw (CD Projekt RED) are hard at work developing Cyberpunk 2077. According to new ‘leaks,’ this innovative IP will have one hell of a social hub. Albeit, it won’t be in the usual sense.

Cyberpunk 2077

New info comes straight from the Triple S League, who has reported on Cyberpunk 2077 in the past. Our only problem is that their information hasn’t been confirmed through any official channels. Nevertheless, the alleged leak has caught our interest and could serve a pillar of the IP if true.

Cyberpunk 2077 will have a very intricate social hub that will tie players to the multiplayer aspect of the game. As detailed by the Madqueen Show and reported by ComicBook.com, players will enter bars to find various in-game activities. The experience will differ immensely from your typical MMO, however. Instead of players huddling in one place, you’re liable to encounter something like a UI that links everything together.

Furthermore, it seems this social hub is proving a demanding part of development. CD Projekt RED is working to adapt this social mechanic to their engine, which they’re calling “a huge part of the plan.” And with a working social hub, supposedly, players will be able to engage in mini-games akin to Gwent, or even something like a dance mod. At this point, it could be anything, and it may be a while before we can say with certainty.

Despite nothing being confirmed, the details of this leaked social hub would fall in line with the “Seamless Multiplayer” CD Projekt RED received government funding for. And if devs can knock this feature out of the park, Cyberpunk 2077 is truly likely to overtake Witcher 3 in size, popularity, and sales. We’ll know more when the time is right. Check back for updates as they arrive.
