Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Slated for a 2018 Release?
Call of Duty has been in a 3-year cycle for some time now. Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, and Treyarch have all been taking turns cranking out a CoD game, then repeating the cycle. Treyarch’s Black Ops 3 was released in 2015, Infinite Warfare from Infinity Ward was released last year, and next month, we will go boots on the ground with Sledgehammer Games Call of Duty: WWII. Naturally, that means Treyarch is up next, leaving many to speculate what the team could be working on. According to one analyst, the team is apparently hard at work on a new entry in the Black Ops franchise.
In a note to investors, Cowen & Company predicted how 2018 will go for Activision Blizzard. Bottom line, they predict that the company’s predicted potential will drop from “Outperform” to an unspecified lower rating. This is the first time its rating has been lowered in nine years.
Even though Cowen & Company believes Activision Blizzard’s stock price will drop next year, it still thinks Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will sell well, predicting its 2018 release.
They also say WWII will outperform Infinite Warfare, bringing fans back in droves.
Naturally, this would not be a shock for fans and seems like a Black Ops 4 would be the next logical game released from Treyarch. Since Black Ops initial arrival, it’s been a big hit for Activision. The 2012 release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is one of the biggest sellers in the series. Black Ops 3 produced solid sales as well and still has a very active player base.
Call of Duty: WWII will release on November 3rd for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
