News via Mobile Animal Crossing-focused Nintendo Direct
Tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct will finally give some more details on the upcoming Nintendo mobile title, Animal Crossing. The event will take place at 11 p.m. ET (8 p.m. Pacific time) on Nintendo’s website, and it will be a breezy 15-minute event focusing on the mobile version of Animal Crossing. I’m pretty confident we’ll finally see some gameplay for this anticipated mobile Nintendo title.
With Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes out, Nintendo is steadily gaining traction for their mobile division. Super Mario Run was a game that had a one-time charge with no further in-game purchases whereas Fire Emblem Warriors Heroes was more of a free gacha-style game with purchasable in-game currency to draw for more heroes. It’s unclear which way the wind will blow for the mobile adaption of the hugely popular Animal Crossing, but I do hope it takes after Super Mario Run’s one-time purchase method of sale.
In any case, the peaceful village-sim title is definitely a pretty great fit for the mobile platform as their 3DS incarnations can attest.
