January Allegedly Several Years Away After Latest Trailer Drops
During this week’s Tokyo Game Show, Capcom revealed some new details for Monster Hunter World. We learned the global release date, as well as a couple details about the various versions available for pre-order. After seeing the latest trailer, January feels really far away. Too far, even.
The newest trailer gives us a good look at Astera, the game’s central hub. You’ve got the usual assortment of geniuses, artisans and labourers all looking terrific. We also got into some of the cut scenes, complete with English-dubbed dialogue. While I’m a snob/weirdo when it comes to dubbing, video games are my one blind spot. There’s something nostalgic about in-game characters shouting orders and gasping in wonder in that weirdly-paced English. We don’t get a good luck at the combat and it’s intricacies, but there’s already been a fair bit of footage released which covers that element of the game.
Pre-orders are up right now, with a regular version, digital deluxe version and the usual super-powered collector’s edition available. As always, players who pick up the collector’s edition are in for an art book, sweet statue and some in-game bonuses. The official release date for Monster Hunter World is set at January 26th, 2018 all over the world. Meanwhile, get a look at that trailer below.
