Dragon’s Crown Pro Now Confirmed, Coming Early 2018 on PS4

Now Including 4K Support and Cross-Play With PS3, Vita Versions

After a leaked banner showed up on a live stream last week, Sony has finally confirmed that Dragon’s Crown Pro is a reality and that it’s coming January 25th, 2018 in Japan on PS4.

During Sony’s Tokyo Game Show 2017 media briefing, Sony revealed the game in a new trailer. This is an updated remaster with support for 4K and cross-play with the PS3 and PS Vita versions. Cross-play between three PlayStation platforms is practically unheard of, so seeing it implemented in Dragon’s Crown Pro is pretty awesome. A retail “Royal Package” limited collector’s edition was also announced for Japan that includes additional goodies. The Japan release will include English voices and the soundtrack has been redone with a live orchestra.

For those that may have missed it in 2013, Dragon’s Crown is a 2D hack-and-slash RPG developed by Vanillaware. Four players, either locally or online, could pick from a colorful cast of medieval characters and battle their way through various enemies in dungeons and labyrinths. It was one of Sony’s first attempts at cross-play functionality and has a devout cult following.
