Don’t Think Anyone Saw That Coming
The epic survival sandbox game by Epic Games is going free-to-play. To be more accurate, the game’s “Battle Royale” mode will be accessible to anyone who downloads.
Battle Royale is Fortnite’s newly introduced PvP mode. Taking elements from PUBG and H1Z1, the mode offers a 100-man brawl but with all the factors that make this game unique. We’re talking about the ability to harvest resources and build structures on a map where everyone is trying to kill one another. Of course, the mode is still in its early stages. Which is why devs are using the influx of players to test the mode and find ways to improve.
Currently, Epic is prototyping the implementation of vehicles. Even more resources are being devoted to improving combat, movement, and streamlining inventory management. Expect major improvements over the game’s early life-span. Additionally, once Battle Royale becomes free, players can expect squads to arrive. Details will be included in the update notes.
As an extra reward for loyalty, anyone who purchased Fortnite solely for the Battle Royale mode can opt for a refund. So long as you purchased the game between September 12 and September 19, you can visit the Billing Support page to get your money back.
More info on Fortnite Battle Royale can be found at the official site. It goes free-to-play on September 26, so brace yourself for the competition. Find it on Xbox One, PC, and PS4.
Happy gaming.
