Avoid Playing Tetra Master All Over Again
Today, Gematsu reported that Final Fantasy IX was recently rated for PS4 was by Pan European Game Information board. After the Steam version in 2016, fans have wondered when the updated oglop-filled JRPG would make its way to modern consoles. With the Final Fantasy series celebrating the 30th anniversary, it would be a sweet note to end the year with a game that many few was the series highlight of the PlayStation era.
Like Final Fantasy VII on PS4, we’re likely getting the Steam port that includes touched up graphics and the following features:
- Speed-boost options were implemented. The player can now skip cutscenes, disable pre-battle fly-bys, and play in high speed mode (doubles all movement speeds, both in and out of battle).
- The “boosters” available are always full ATB/Trance/HP/MP, 9999 damage, no random encounters, master abilities (equipping an item automatically unlocks its abilities permanently), and characters’ levels and Magic Stones and the party’s gil can be maxed out.
With Tokyo Game Show 2017 coming up soon, I’d wager all the gil in Dali that we’ll see a Final Fantasy IX on PS4 reveal there.
