Toukiden 2: Free Alliances Good Intro While Helping Their Gamers
You can just drop $60 on a game, right? Just purchase Toukiden 2! If you don’t like it, who cares? It was only $60, right? WRONG. $60 can buy you 12 $5 footlongs at Subway (without tax added, I GET IT). But if you want to try before you buy and help your character progress, now you can with Toukiden 2: Free Alliances Version.
In a unique take to the concept of a game demo, players of Toukiden 2: Free Alliances Version are able to take on Group Missions offered at the Command Center, which is a component of the full game. There, players will visit various Ages to slay the monstrous beasts with up to four other companions from across the globe. For players on the Free Alliances Version, each mission has a Stamina Cost associated, and before venturing out into the Ages the player must ensure they have the appropriate amount of Stamina required to participate.
That’s a pretty good strategy: players of the full version getting a boost from players just trying out the game. It’s also a continual demo; either players wait eight hours or pay Mr. Paywall to get back in the fight more quickly, netting the developer some cash. Probably the ideal scenario for KOEI TECMO is players get a feel for the game and want to buy the full version, eliminating the Stamina cost.
Toukiden 2: Free Alliances Version doesn’t stop there; players can also get a taste of the full title’s campaign by playing through the first chapter of the main campaign. Now, for the best news – Slayers who purchase the full version of Toukiden 2 are able to import their Save Data from the Free Alliances Version, allowing them to continue their adventures and experience from where they left off.
That’s the best introduction to a game I can think of; it doesn’t pressure players to “buy now or STOP” and actually has some real impact on the full title if players choose to purchase the full game. Good job, KOEI TECMO!
Toukiden 2: Free Alliances Version is set for a digital release on May 30, 2017 for the PlayStation4 and PlayStation Vita.
