Indie Exploration “EXO ONE” Kickstarter Launches Today with Breathtaking Trailer
Indie developers often need to find that special something to stand out amongst the big time competition. So what could be more special than a new method of planetary exploration? EXO ONE is launching itself to new heights with gravity-defying mechanics for exploring a vast alien planet. Developer Exbleative has launched a Kickstarter campaign today alongside an impressive reveal trailer for its highly anticipated, one-of-a-kind momentum based exploration game.
Jay Wheston, the head of Exbleative, is asking $35,000 AU ($26,000 USD) to complete the project by 2018. The game is described as a “momentum-based exoplanetary exploration game where you pilot an alien craft capable of manipulating the laws of gravity, on mankind’s first, ill-fated mission outside the solar system.” EXO ONE impressed many outlets with its showing in London at EGX, and was named one of the top games at Rezzed by both Eurogamer and The Guardian, awarding them in categories “Eight of the Best Games from the Show Floor” and Top 12 Most Interesting Games”, respectively. The buzz behind this title seems poised to take off and we can definitely see why: EXO ONE looks gorgeous, and introduces new mechanics that are fresh and – at times – exhilarating.
This could even be the next Journey, and with that in mind, we hope Exbleative can reach their Kickstarter campaign goals and bring this dream to life. What do you guys think of the potential behind EXO ONE? Let us know on Facebook, Twitter, or the Comments section below!
