THQ’s Darksiders III Leaked on Amazon, Ride Again!

Darksiders III Confirmed from Product Listing

Someone made an oopsie-doo at Amazon, and it netted the gaming community a description and some screenshots of Darksiders III.

From the description, players will take control of Fury, another of the four horsemen of the Nephilim. Her description is “a mage who must rely on her whip and magic to restore the balance between good and evil on Earth!”

Some of the other bullet points:

  • Harness FURY’s magic to unleash her various forms – each granting her access to new weapons, moves and traversal abilities”.
  • Explore an open-ended, living, free-form game world in which FURY moves back and forth between environments to uncover secrets while advancing the story
  • Defeat the Seven Deadly Sins and their servants who range from mystical creatures to degenerated beings
  • Darksiders signature art style – expansive post-apocalyptic environments that take the player from the heights of heaven to the depths of hell, dilapidated by war and decay and overrun by nature

From the leak, we know that Darksiders III will be released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. No mention of a Switch release.

For those unfamiliar with the Darksiders series, it’s an action RPG with a focus on hack-and-slash gameplay, broken up with environment puzzles. The series follows the Four Horsemen: Fury, War, Death, and Strife. They are Nephilim – an amalgamation of angels and demons that waged war on creation. The Four Horsemen report to the Charred Council, a mediator group between Heaven and Hell. From there, the Four Horsemen have been dispatched to Earth to eliminate other Nephilim that would interfere in the Charred Council’s peacekeeping. Darksiders II took place in parallel to its predecessor, so it will be interesting if Darksiders III takes place concurrently with the rest of the series. It’s safe to bet Darksiders IV will be on the rise, because “‘the number of the riders shall ever be four,’ and the Horsemen appeared: War, Strife, Fury and finally, Death.”
