Amazon “Already Sold All the Copies They’ve Been Given” of the PS4 Version
Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 has almost no information available whatsoever beyond a trailer and a nebulous release window. This has not stopped fans from scooping every allotted pre-order of the PS4 version on Amazon, however.
According to Amazon’s official statement on the matter, they have “already sold all the copies they’ve been given” of the PS4 edition of Red Dead Redemption 2. Copies of the Xbox One version are still available to pre-order. This is likely due to the deal struck between Sony and Rockstar, wherein Playstation 4 players will get post-launch content before their Xbox One counterparts.
Given that their pre-order sales are already so robust, what’s going to happen to the Red Dead hype train as more information comes out? Rockstar Games hit some fairly healthy sales with their last major release, although Red Dead is not quite as enormous a franchise as Grand Theft Auto. At the very least, Rockstar would be foolish not to up their pre-order allotment once more concrete information is released. E3 is on the horizon, after all. Perhaps we’ll learn a tiny bit more then?
