Horizon: Zero Dawn a Retail Success Story
Yesterday, we told you about a recent interview where a few developers for Guerrilla Games discussed their thoughts on Horizon: Zero Dawn, and the possibility of a sequel. Considering the massive success, and the extremely positive reviews, this should come as no surprise to fans of the game. Today, we learned just how good the game sold at retail and needless to say, Horizon Zero Dawn is a smashing retail success.
According to VGChartz, the open world action RPG from Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games sold 1,829,337 units first week at retail on the PlayStation 4, according to estimates.
Breaking down the sales by region, the game sold best in Europe with 916,642 units sold (50%), compared to 477,505 units sold in the US (26%) and 120,566 units in Japan. Looking more closely at Europe, the game sold an estimated 166,952 units in the UK, 164,964 units in Germany, and 136,356 units in France.
Horizon: Zero Dawn released for the PlayStation 4 in North America on February 28, in Europe on March 1 and in Japan om March 2.
