8-Bit Bayonetta Release Teases Bigger Plans from Sega
Take this with a grain of salt, but Sega has released a free 8-bit Bayonetta mini-game on Steam, and it contains clues.
Specifically, there’s an Easter egg tucked away in the game’s Steam achievements. Diligent players can unlock portions of an image. Said image contains a URL. This one, right here. The page contains nothing but a picture of Bayonetta’s boot-guns and a countdown.
What’s revealed in ten days? We can’t be sure, but the consensus (read: fondest hopes) points to a PC release of the first game in the series. Yes, today is April Fool’s day, but c’mon! The countdown ends way, way into April! Surely this is the real deal and not some elaborate and cruel hoax. Either way, we’ll know what Sega has planned once the countdown runs its course. In the meantime, there’s always the aforementioned wacky little mini-game to pass the time.
