Skins and Stickers Real Bad for Nintendo Switch

Skins Manufacturer Found Serious Problems Prior to Product Launch

Hardware skins manufacturer dbrand issued a warning on Reddit regarding the Nintendo Switch. After some extensive testing, they determined that their products were not compatible with the Switch and its controllers.

The skins were left on the Switch and its controllers for a 24-hour period. Once the the skins were removed, dbrand noticed extensive damage done to the surface of the console and the controllers. To be certain of the effects, this was tested with both a prototype and retail build. They repeated this process with ten retail units, coming to the conclusion that Nintendo’s newest console is “not compatible with vinyl wraps or any adhesive-backed skin of any kind.” They followed this discovery by fully refunding any pre-orders for their product which had already been made. dbrand opined that the problem was “really quite unfortunate, not just because we were going to make a ton of money from this console, but more-so because it genuinely did look dope with a skin.”

While this is rather unfortunate, kudos to dbrand for taking such proactive measures to ensure customer satisfaction. Not many companies would be willing to take the bullet like that to save their customers so much grief.
