Project Scorpio will Still be a Major Upgrade for Those Without 4K Systems
Players without the coveted 4K display will still get some substantial benefits from Microsoft’s upcoming Project Scorpio system.
The latest reports indicate that the newest Xbox will employ ‘supersampling spatial anti-aliasing’ on full HD displays for games that include native 4K assets.” Even without a 4K television, Scorpio will still work to deliver a higher-quality graphics experience. The system will also use Microsoft’s Shader Model 6 in order to improve performance. This feature isn’t a Scorpio exclusive, but will still count towards the system’s boosted performance.
These features are a big step in ensuring that Microsoft’s newest console is a success. A lot of consumers of transitioning to the 4K model of gaming and media consumption. Still, this process is a slow one. Including these systems in the Scorpio means that players who have yet to make the 4K jump can still justify the purchase. Project Scorpio is set to release sometime this year. More concrete details will likely come out during E3 2017.
