“Give Me Something Interesting to Play and I’m Happy” – Morgan Freeman
We don’t know how it happened; there was no warning, but thousands of voices suddenly screamed in pain. Although prophecy (BioWare) foretold of a multiplayer tech test for the highly anticipated Mass Effect Andromeda, fate (BioWare) has decided against it. The reason: we don’t know.
Certainly, many fans have been awaiting the date of an alleged multiplayer beta since it was announced last year. Many signed up as soon as registration was made available. Thus, we were ready and willing to test what the game had in store after all the news surrounding SP and MP. Players were probably even more curious about how multiplayer would deliver its rewards to single-player and more. Not happening. The developer declared as much in their most recent blog post:
“while we will have live multiplayer at PAX East, there will no longer be a multiplayer tech test for players at home. Thank you to everyone who signed up. We look forward to seeing you in Andromeda.”
What? The announcement was so casual, it could’ve been pwned in Call of Duty. But at least you’d know things ahead of time since Call of Duty had a beta. Now we’re left to speculate why the test was canceled so abruptly. After this news, the only samplings of Mass Effect Andromeda shall be available through EA Early Access and Origin. However, if you’re quite keen on trying out that multiplayer, you’ll find BioWare running their show in room 2AB during PAX East 2017.
Mass Effect Andromeda arrives March 21st for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. But how does this news make you feel? Comment your thoughts down below and let us know whether this affects your purchase. And for more disappointing revelations, stick around COGconnected for the latest. Happy gaming.
