More Meaningful Side Quests, Planet Characterization, and More DialogueÂ
Five years later, BioWare continues to optimize and work on making Mass Effect Andromeda the best game possible. As they are a responsive bunch on twitter, we just received a little hint about the game’s length. A gamer who took a day off to play Mass Effect 3 commented on the required play time. Lead Designer Ian S. Frazier responded to his tweet by saying Mass Effect Andromeda will take up even more time.
@jharacampbell @GambleMike Players are going to….need more days for this one.

Frazier’s comments may come as little surprise, considering devs are taking notes from Witcher 3. That means longer side quests with more depth. A very good thing for player immersion. CD Projekt Red set the bar with that game, and we’re excited to see just how insightful BioWare has gotten with their beloved franchise. Estimates clock-in Mass Effect 3 at 50 hours for everything to be done in the galaxy. We’re anticipating near 100 hours for Mass Effect Andromeda. That’s this generation’s estimate.
But the length of the next game can be offset or supplemented by the fun combat, as shown in the combat trailer released last week. An additional note: Frazier stated that the game will be “very beginner friendly.” Andromeda was built with all players in mind. Thus, no one has to play the previous trilogy to understand what’s going on; although, it comes highly recommended. Devs have already stated that this installment stands alone.
@masseffect @tibermoon How beginner friendly (lore wise) will andromeda be? Will it all be in the codex or have you slipped bits in dialog?
