Zelda Breath of the Wild to Feature pro HUD Mode

Footage of Zelda Breath of the Wild On “Pro” Mode HUD Setting Unveiled

The launch of the Nintendo Switch is less than a month away! Soon we will all be able to get hands-on time with the most anticipated launch title: Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. As march 3rd creeps closer, fans may be hoping for some last minute exciting reveals from Nintendo, but with just over three weeks to go, we wouldn’t advise holding your breath. It is really cool though, to see more and more details about Breath of the Wild coming out courtesy of those fortunate few who have had some play time with the new game.

Just yesterday, YouTube user Gehab released a video showcasing a newly discovered HUD mode for Breath of the Wild: “Pro” mode. Check out the first few minutes of the video below to check out the differences between the normal HUD and the “Pro” version: (Entire video is 14 minutes long, “Pro” mode reveal at 2:45 – 3:35)

The “Pro” HUD mode hides almost every familiar bit of information on the Zelda screen like the minimap and D-pad linked items, as well as some new mechanics like the temperature and sound gauges. One can only imagine how immersive it would feel to run “Pro” mode on a tricked out home entertainment setup.

There is a ton more information in the above-linked video including Gehab’s feelings on which control scheme feels best, and some interesting bits about dropping frame rate and potentially low-resolution textures in Breath of the Wild. It is definitely worth noting that the version being played in the video is not the final version that will release on March 3rd with the Nintendo Switch, so impressions about performance are preliminary at best. The entire video is a bit lengthy but if you are interested in the Nintendo Switch, it’s a worthwhile watch.
