Let’s Look at the New Tempest and Nomad in Mass Effect Andromeda

Behold the Smaller Normandy and White Batmobile in Mass Effect Andromeda

Earlier today, BioWare released more information for their popular title, Mass Effect Andromeda. This information came in the form of a new video showcasing the Tempest and Nomad. It details the design of these vehicles, bringing their uses and applications into full view. And in case you’re wondering, these definitely seem like your player-class Normandy and Mako. Now take a tour with the briefing below:

That speaker certainly sounds like a Salarian. But anyway, what we have here are some additional highlights on how we will explore Andromeda. So far, the resource collecting seems vaguely reminiscent of Mass Effect 2. Except in this case, it may be more tied in with exploration. At least, the video suggests some on-sight extraction of minerals. As for what those resources will be used for, hopefully something meaningful as utilized in Mass Effect 2’s ending…or paint jobs. Perhaps both?

No doubt veterans caught hints of how exactly they’ll use each room in the Tempest. There’s essentially a parallel for everything we saw in the Normandy SR2, with some interesting additions. And unlike previous renditions, producer Mike Gamble did say there was much more innovation with the celestial map. Moreover, the Nomad seems like a middle-ground between earlier games’ Mako and hammerhead. Since neither the Tempest or Nomad have any big guns, however, we’re guessing some super fun exploration is in store. There’d better be.

We know Mass Effect Andromeda is coming March 21st for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and will support HDR. Additionally, it will closely tie single player and multiplayer seamlessly, with the option to avoid multiplayer altogether. Furthermore, Gamble has stated that more surprises will be revealed closer to release – since it will be more exciting that way. Since this video did not show actual gameplay, players have reason to be skeptical. Nevertheless, you have two months to decide. We expect a lot more before then, so stick around for more updates on our favorite sci-fi RPG franchise.
