Yooka-Laylee Arrives on April 11TH, Unfortunately the Game is Canceled for Wii U
Finally! The launch dates for Yooka-Laylee have arrived! The 3D platform-adventure from the same creative minds behind Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country games is available to pre-order RIGHT NOW for non-Kickstarter backers for £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99, in either digital or physical format! People who pick up the pre-order will also get an instant download of the Yooka-Laylee Toybox, which allows players to explore an open, spoiler-free sandbox while they get used to the game’s mechanics. The full game will be available April 11th for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4,
Unfortunately, development of Yooka-Laylee for Nintendo’s Wii U has been halted and the team will now focus their efforts on the game’s release on the Nintendo Switch. Even though Team17 ad Playtonic Games have put every effort into bringing the tail-spinning tag team to the Wii U platform, unforseen technical issues have prevented them from keeping the Wii U launch on schedule as planned. Instead, they will be focusing their efforts towards the bringing their game to Nintendo’s prized new console. Pledges who had their eyes set on the Wii U version will be able to transfer their pledge to any other available console, or upgrade to the Nintendo Switch version when more information comes out in 2017.
If it’s any sort of consolation for you Wii U players (I know it isn’t), an all new Yooka-Laylee trailer was released showing off world of Capital Cashino. Check out the trailer!
