Rumor Has It That the Turbulent Rime Is Venturing Into the Realm of Multi-Platform Availability Relatively Soon
For those of you with an excellent memory, you probably recall all the details for Gamescom 2013 as if it were yesterday. So you remember Rime then, an open world adventure game that was slated to be released by developers Tequila Works. Sony announced the game as a PS4 exclusive and it was said it would feature beautiful colorful aesthetics. For those who need a refresher check out the following trailer. The game is visually beautiful and very reminiscent of recent titles like The Last Guardian or Ni No Kuni.
Unfortunately, it has not been smooth sailing for the whimsical game from the beginning. It was leaked in 2014 that the game was originally pitched to Microsoft as Echoes of the Sieren, but they passed. But then on March 16, 2016, it was announced the game will no longer be a PlayStation Exclusive by Sony either. Tequila Works issued a statement at the time saying they had “chosen to reacquire the rights to its open world adventure game, RiME,” and “is working hard to realize its aspirations for it”. Tequila Works and Sony then parted ways with Tequila Works requiring the rights.
Now, it seems good things are on the horizon for Rime. Grey Box and Six Foot teamed up with Tequila Works to bring us the game in 2017.  Also, it is now tentatively rumored that it will be available on multiple platforms! It was noted by Gematsu, that Rime appeared with a rating on the Brazilian Advisory Rating Board. It is also surprising that the game is rated for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch!
Despite this tidbit of information, it was announced that additional information will be shared in early 2017. This includes gameplay and platform availability details. That is only a few weeks away, so it seems we will have to wait to see if the Brazilian Rating Board jumped the gun.
What do you think, should we be excited to see this title? Does it look intriguing? Let us know in the comments below!
