Arkane Studio’s Dishonored 2 announces two free game updates that will allow players to take shadow power lethality to the next level
New Game Plus has officially released today as a beta on PC and will go worldwide for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on December 19th.This is set to be the first of two free game updates. Now for those of you unfamiliar with New Game Plus, this new model typically allows you to start over after beating the original game with all your equipment and abilities from your previous game. For Dishonored 2 the systems goes a little more in-depth.
In Dishonored 2‘s New Game Plus, you will be able to restart as either Emily or Corvo with full access to the other characters abilities. This means an Emily with the power of Possession or time altering Blink. This means a Corvo Attano with a creepy Shadow Walk or Domino. It means an all around good time!
According to Bethesda, in addition to all the powers, you will also have access to all your previously acquired Runes and Bonecharm traits as a result of the New Game Plus. This will allow players to level up and enhance the abilities they want, resulting in a supremely hard hitting character. Sounds like this is exactly what Arkane was aiming for “If you’ve ever wanted to make higher-powered characters, now’s your chance…We’ve been having fun with it here at Arkane Studios, and we hope you will too.”
Now for update number two which is set to release in Jan 2017 and will bring two new features: Mission Select and Custom Difficulty settings. Because let’s be honest, gamers are masochists. Therefore we are not happy unless the game makes us scream in frustration at least once. This game update, coupled with update #1, will really allow players to tailor the game to their own personal level of challenging.
While more information is set to be released at some point for future game updates, here is what we are formally getting for the first one:
