Titanfall 3 Is Not Guaranteed
Following the massive success Titanfall 2 has had since release, Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella addresses discussion about a third game in the franchise. Zampella says that Titanfall 3 is not a guarantee at this point and though Respawn Entertainment, the developer of the Titanfall games, has ideas about more titles in the series, it is not 100 percent that the studio will take them on.
While the reaction to Titanfall 2 has been extremely positive so far, the executive says that it is too soon to tell how well the game has done in sales. Zampella had this to say about Titanfall 2 and the possibility for a Titanfall 3, “The game is, critically, a huge success. We’re really happy with all the reviews and the positive sentiment. Sales, it’s too early to tell. We’d definitely like to tell more of the story and the universe. I think it’s pretty safe to assume that we’ll explore more of it.” This statement follows one made by EA CFO Blake Jorgensen saying that the company is taking a long term approach to the Titanfall series, rather than focusing on the first week of sales.
It seems that should there be a third installment in the Titanfall series that it will build on the story brought into Titanfall 2 after player criticisms of the original game and lack of campaign. Good news for fans is the fact that Respawn seems to weigh player criticisms heavily while making game decisions, which could contribute to the overwhelming success of Titanfall 2 following a disappointing opening to the game series in Titanfall.
Although Titanfall 3 has not been confirmed yet, it will certainly be interesting to see if there will be a third game in the Titanfall franchise in the future.
