Since the E3 announcement from Marvel and Insomniac back in June about Spider-Man PS4, we have been eagerly waiting to hear more about it. There is no doubt that if it is half as great as the Spider-Man games for the PS2 that the game will be a huge success! Here is everything you need to know about it Spider-Man PS4 so far.

Spider-Man’s release date is still a mystery, and though it was rumoured to be released in next month, Insomniac quickly put these rumours to rest back in July and have yet to release an idea on a release date. For the time being Insomniac is keeping things simple with the title and are just calling it Spider-Man PS4, however there have been hints about more details being dropped at the Playstation Experience in Anaheim this December.

The trailer seems to show a very acrobatic Spidey, not only swinging through the streets but also performing some very springy indoor acrobatics. The combat also seems to take advantage of both webs and agility. Admittedly the graphics look spectacular, and the game looks fresh and exciting. For any skeptics, Insomniac is adamant that the gameplay will look and feel the same way as they do in the game trailer. If the game looks like this now, hopefully it will look even better at launch, whenever that is anyway.

Spider-Man PS4’s story is all new, which Insomniac is working hand in hand with Marvel on. Obviously Insomniac has been tight lipped about the Spider-Man PS4 story but so far we know that it won’t be an origin story, and will start out with a more experienced Spider-Man. Now the fact that it won’t be an origin story, as well as the fact that they are working closely with Marvel suggests that the story should be pretty damn good. Worth noting as well that this will have nothing to do with the upcoming Spider-Man Homecoming movie.

What’s the deal with Spider-Man PS4’s white suit?

A lot of people have noted the white detailing on Spidey’s new suit in Spider-Man PS4 and while we don’t know what the reason is behind it, there is definitely a reason. What is interesting here is that the white continues to Spidey’s web shooters which, colour aside, are very similar to the Spider-Man Homecoming web shooters. Does that mean something? 

Who is the villain in Spider-Man PS4?

The main villains in Spider-Man PS4 aren’t known yet. All we have to go on are the villains wearing animal looking masks from the trailer. Odds on these are beginner goons when the game starts. Will there be a power chain leading up to a more famous bad guy? Also, could the fact that Insomniac keeps stating that this is ‘an established’ Spider-Man affect villain choices depending on where he is in his life? The lives, deaths and resurrections of various characters could play a part in who’s available to cause trouble.
