Following the massively positive reaction to the official announcement of Red Dead Redemption 2, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has revealed some details on what players can hope to expect of the game. There are going to be some huge changes from the original Red Dead Redemption, all of which are good news to fans of the franchise. With expectations for this sequel already sky high, Fall 2017 can cannot come fast enough!
Probably due in part to the massive success of GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2 looks to take the first game’s GTA-gone-West approach to new heights, with stunning scenery, and an expanded multiplayer approach. While many details have not been unveiled, the few snippets we have gathered sound amazing.
The executive spoke about how the time is right for Red Dead Redemption 2 to feature an open world. He had this to say: “We took a different point of view, which is that very occasionally westerns capture the imagination of the public. When we launched Red Dead, it did. And those times were right for that. And I think the times are right for a big, sprawling, optimistic view of America again–and that’s not meant to be cute.” Zelnick also revealed that players can expect great story and gameplay elements.
It has also been revealed that because Rockstar has signed on with Sony, Playstation 4 players will receive a few bonuses and will get first access to earn select online content.
