Get Ready to ‘Super Mario Run’ on Dec 15th
A few months ago the internet collectively lost its shit at the announcement of Super Mario Run. We all need games to play when we’re on the bus, the subway, the toilet, etc. and Nintendo looks to fill that void with one of the most anticipated games of the year. In a new gameplay video, we get info on three confirmed gameplay modes to go alongside today’s Nintendo announcement that the game will be available for iOS on December, 15th for $9.99.
The new modes breakdown as follows:
World Tour
World Tour is the ‘endless runner’ portion of the game that see players running, jumping, stomping and coin collecting in the effort to save Princess Peach (again!) from the evil Bowser. It’ll have a total of 6 worlds with ’24 brand new courses designed for mobile play.’
Toad Rally
Toad Rally sees players using Mario’s ‘stylish moves’ to engage in competition with friends and other players from around the world. It’s essentially a time attack mode for the most part that has you aiming for the highest score possible. In this mode you can ever earn Toads that will live in the Kingdoms you build (more on that just below). This mode will require in-game ‘Rally Tickets’ that can be acquired by completing worlds or playing in bonus games in players’ Kingdoms.
Kingdom Builder
The last mode, called Kingdom Builder, allows players to ‘create your unique kingdom with buildings and decorations’ that players can purchase using in-game coins. Coins can be earned from doing Toad Rally challenges. As of right now it is said that the Kingdom Builder will feature over 100 items to experiment and build with.
