Cuphead immediately turned heads when it debuted way back at E3 2014. Appearing during the Microsoft presser as part of the ID@Xbox segment of the show the little piece of action we saw was enough for people to beg for more. Here we are over two years later and the release window that was supposed to see a 2016 slot has now been pushed forward to 2017. From the MDHR website;

Hey everyone, we wanted to finish our game 80 years after 1936 but it will now be 81.

Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact. We are happy to announce that Cuphead will be coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam in Mid-2017.

We are constantly humbled by your continued support. Love you all and can’t wait to get this to you. Without further ado, we will get back to work!

If we can take anything away from this it’s that the delay equals even more polish on an already stunning looking title. When speaking of his delayed launch for the N64 due to perfecting Mario 64, the legend Shigeru Miyamoto quipped, “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.”

Those are words we can take to heart as we wait just a wee bit longer to get our hands on what looks like one of the most unique games to ever grace our screens. Keep it locked to COGconnected for more information on Cuphead as we have it.
