Unknown Magazine Leaks Article Containing The Last of Us 2 Confirmation
We all thought that The Last of Us 2 was going to be revealed at E3 2016. It seemed like a surefire deal that Sony and Naughty Dog would want to pounce on one of their most successful games ever. The time was right and as the Sony Press Event ended it seemed like it had strangely been cut short… something was missing. Well, there’s a good chance that what was missing was the true and official announcement of The Last of Us 2.
In an image leaked on imgur, it shows a magazine article detailing a 2018 release for the much-anticipated sequel with Druckmann talking about the five years that have passed and how Ellie has grown to a 19-year-old young woman. That makes it 100% certain that the incoming game is a sequel, not a spin-off or prequel of any kind.
As detailed in the article, both Druckmann and Straley talk about the scope of the game and the development of Ellie as a character. She learned a lot from Joel and is a master strategist of her own taking part in large scenarios much akin to big setups in the Uncharted series, according to Straley. The game will also take time to dive into past situations that show how Ellie’s personality and drive have moulded her into the young lady she is.
