PlayStation 5 in 2018?Â
Damien Thong. A name most of us wouldn’t know but he is the only analyst to correctly predict the existence of the PS4 Pro and the PS4 Slim. His next prediction? The successor to the PS4, the PlayStation 5 could see an arrival during the second half of 2018. In a post on Twitter, Takashi Mochizuki, a technology reporter for the Wall Street Journal, made mention of Thong’s prediction.
PS4 Pro? Wait, what about PS5? Macquarie’s Damian Thong who correctly predicted PS4 slim and Pro says PS5 may arrive in 2nd half of 2018.

This would put the PS4 and only 5 years old so for many it might come a bit too soon for their pocket books to handle. Still, with tech developing faster than ever and us already seeing 1.5 and 2.0 versions of both the Xbox One and PS4 consoles it seems about right for the speed at which we’re now moving.
