Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain to Star in The Division Film
It looks like Ubisoft is really starting to tackle their motion picture ‘division’ as they have just announced their latest project. Tom Clancy’s The Division is next up to get the movie treatment and it will star Academy Award nominees Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal. Attaching two big names (and great actors might we add) to the project certainly gives the announcement some weight. We all know how notoriously bad video game to movie adaptations can be (thanks, Uwe Boll!) but Ubisoft seems to be trying to do it right.
With the Michael Fassbender lead Assassin’s Creed set to hit theaters on December 21, 2016 we’ll be able to judge Ubisoft and their motion pictures department for ourselves in short order.
Moving on to make The Division certainly makes sense as it’s one of Ubisoft’s most popular games to date. In fact, it sold more copies in its first 24 hours of release than any other title in the publisher’s history. That’s no small feat when you consider the games they have under their belt. As it stands we’ve got a long time to go until we see this project come to light but you know we’ll be keeping a keen eye out for any more information we can.
