PS4 Neo Sketch Revealed by Foxconn Worker
It looks like we may be getting just a slight sneak peek at what the upcoming PS4 Neo is going to look like. Just a few hours ago there was a sketch uploaded to Chinese forums A9VG by a worker from Foxconn. If you’ve never heard of Foxconn you’re probably not alone so you’d be even more surprised to find out that they are the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer. In fact, they are responsible for bringing Sony’sPlayStation 3 and 4, the Nintendo Wii U, Microsoft’s Xbox One, Apple’s iPad/iPhone/iPod and the Amazon Kindle to your living rooms around the world. While we certainly want to treat the sketch and following images as rumors the fact that they’re coming from Foxconn adds a small measure of credibility to the source.
The original sketch, just below, looks like a bit of a blend of PS4 and PS2 elements mushed together for the Neo. The source also leaked that the console would be a bit thicker than the existing PS4 as well as heavier. This makes perfect sense seeing as the innards will have more power than ever.
That image isn’t a whole ton to go on but based on what they saw a couople of NeoGAF users created some quick mockups to help us less artistic types visualize what the console may look like. Up at the very top is a mockup from GAF user xenorevils, AKA Peter Segura. Below is another quick rendition of the console from another user, artsi.
Again, it’s pretty clear that we should take all this info with a large grain of salt but the idea of a leak wouldn’t necessarily be all too surprising. With the official reveal event just over a week away it’s very likely that this type of stuff has gotten into the hands of those who would like to share it… with us! Rumors have also been swirling that we may see the release of the PS4 Neo this year instead of in 2017 but quite obviously there has been no confirmation there.
With that September 7th reveal event looming just on the horizon we expect possibly more information to leak and we’ll do our best to stay on top of it and get the info to you as fast as we can!
